Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat (Modern Love Story, #4) by Daisy Prescott **Review**

I, Thomas Clifford Donnely, am a manwhore.

I’ve been told I’m irresistible to women. Like catnip for a different type of pussy-cat. I guess you could call me a Tom Cat.

This is the story about how I lost my wingman, broke all my own rules, and found myself falling in love.

Tom Donnelly isn't the marrying kind, or the dating kind. Even after losing his #1 wingman to love, he doesn't see the point in relationships. When his sister's best friend returns to Whidbey Island and propositions Donnelly for a one-night stand, he breaks one of his biggest rules—no fooling around with his sisters' friends. It's just sex, nothing more. That's what Tom does and does well.

What happens when "just sex" isn't enough?

Hailey King is more than a match for Tom's flirtations. She's known him most of her life and has heard the rumors about his "skills" for years. When her perfectly planned future falls apart, will the last man she should ever fall for turn out to be more than a one-night stand?

**5 Hilarious Stars**

Tom is a bachelor, who is against relationships and believes only in one night stands and no strings attached kind of relationships. Hailey is his sister's best friend who comes back in town, all grown up woman and not the tomboy he used to remember. Hailey had a crush on him when she was younger, but she knows that he's against commitment. How will they handle the chemistry that it's apparent between them? Will they both settle for what they can have or will this lead to more? The real question is will Hailey be able to tame the Cat?

"If the dimples don't get them , the dirty talk always does."

I really enjoyed this book. The writing was excellent and had captured me since the first pages. Daisy has an incredible talent in writing male POV. After Tangled, it was another male POV that won me over with the smartass, flirting and teasing comments coming out of Tom's mouth. It was brilliant I'm telling you! I loved his character and he has another girl on his long list of fans, swooning over his dimples and his silly pick up lines.

I can’t be best friends with a pussy.”
“Says the man whose nickname is Tom Cat?”
“I’m more like the catnip. All the pussies go wild for me.”

This was a really light, drama-free story, which was also fun and made me laugh out loud several times, giggle and have a silly smile on my face while reading this. I also appreciated that this book was written about adults , acting according their age and not like silly teenagers. I think their conversations and their actions were truly mature and this is aimed to an adult audience.(view spoiler)

Daisy Prescott has earnt my respect and added another fan in her list. I now need to read more from her! Especially John's story in Ready to Fall ^_^ I recommend this book to be read by anyone who likes a light and fun read, written in strictly male POV. This can be read as a stand alone, but it's also part of a series.

Finding Haven by T.A. Foster

Power. Money. Control. Love.
He has all but one.

When movie star, Evan Carlson, discovers his girlfriend’s picture with another man splashed on the cover of gossip magazines, he decides he’s had enough of his fishbowl life and attempts to outrun the media frenzy his relationships have become. Driving until the road stops, he ends up on the remote and quaint Perry Island, where a heartthrob can blend in like the locals and be a beach bum as long as he wants. All that changes when Evan meets Haven Owen, aspiring songwriter and the girl he just can’t get enough of. A summer romance turns into something much deeper and Evan gets tangled in his own web of lies to keep Haven in his life. But when his ex tracks him down, Evan learns there are some things you just can’t outrun.

Is the cost of love, losing all control?

Recommended for 17+ due to mature language and adult situations.

**3.5 Darlin' stars**

Evan is a well known Texan actor and a super star. Being fed up by the press who intrudes in his life, after a personal matter hits the fan, he decides to get lost and stay hidden. Without a clear plan on his mind, he drives until he reaches Perry Island. There , he is relieved that no one recognizes him and makes a plan to change his identity, claiming that he's Jay the writer. For him this is a chance to live incognito a peaceful summer and a break away from publicity.

Haven is a girl who has a plan. Being a student and living on her own away from her hometown, she's now dying to get away from Perry Island, where her family owns the local market. A market that will be hers in the future. A future she wants to run away from, because Haven has a passion for music and she wants to become a songwriter.

Due to a personal conflict one day she needs desperately a clerk to work in the store and there comes Jay, the handsome writer, who is willing to save the day.

Finding Haven was a summer story that I enjoyed, it just didn't blow me away. I liked the storyline, even though it reminded me of a classic chick flick kind of movie. I have to admit that I didn't really enjoy the first 25% of the book, because it seemed slow and because the MCs hadn't really met, so it kind of felt boring to me. But after that thankfully things got better and I enjoyed the rest of the book. The ending felt like it could make an opening for a sequel and I was glad when I found out that, indeed, there's another book with the continuation of their story. I will read that one, because I liked Jay and I'm curious to see how their story will unfold on the Red Lines.

Getting Dirty by Mia Storm **Cover Reveal**

We are so pleased to introduce brand new author Mia Storm with her debut release, Getting Dirty

Releasing on March 19th

Dirty
A poem by Blaire Leon

If sex is dirty, why would I do it with someone I love?
If sex is dirty, then didn’t we all come from the dirt?
What if I like the dirt?
What if I want to get dirty?
What if I want to roll in the mud until I’m so fucking filthy that I’ll never be clean again?

When twenty-five-year-old graduate assistant Caiden Brenner asked Blaire Leon how old she was, she said she was a senior. He chose to believe she meant in college. They connect over Lord Byron’s Don Juan and, as their conversations become increasingly thicker with sexual innuendo, Caiden finds himself obsessing over a totally off-limits undergrad who’s bold, beautiful, brilliant, and one of the most passionate poets he’s ever met.

But it turns out Blaire hasn't been totally honest. She's the seventeen-year-old valedictorian of her high school class, taking courses at Sierra State while awaiting her acceptance to Stanford.

Will Caiden get too deeply into Blaire to back away before he finds out the truth? Or will their connection be enough to seduce him into risking his entire future on Jail Bait?

"A thousand and one feels....Getting Dirty is a thrilling, tantalizing forbidden romance you do not want to miss! I not only devoured this book, it devoured me right back!"--Katy Evans, New York Times Bestselling author of REAL

EXCERPT

“What year are you?” I don’t even realize I’ve said it until it’s out of my mouth.
Her eyes flick from the book to mine. “A senior.”
I feel my eyebrows arch before I can stop them. “You look younger.”
She bites her lips between her teeth for a moment. “Is that good or bad?”
“Neither, I suppose.” But my insides burn, knowing that she’s not as off-limits as I originally thought. It’s nearing the end of January. Commencement will be here soon enough. She graduates and all bets are off.
“So…” she says, twisting a finger into the ends of her hair. “I know you like old, dead poets. How do you feel about hearing something fresher?”
I lean toward her. “Such as?”
“I’m reading in a poetry slam tonight. It’s just something over at Tino’s in Jonestown on the fourth Friday of every month. There’s no prize money or anything, but I perform something new pretty much every month.”
“A poetry slam…” I want to say yes in the worst way, but it feels dangerously like a date.
She must read the hesitation in my eyes. “If it’s too weird, no worries. I just thought, since you like poetry…”
She leaves the thought dangling. Like a noose. And I jump right into it. “Yeah. Why not?”
The answer to that rhetorical question is that it’s not May yet and she hasn’t graduated. I’m risking everything I’ve worked the last three years toward. My entire future. But the voice of reason is being drowned out by the raging waves of something rolling up from the deepest layers of my being like an undertow. Something base and essential. And unrelenting.
“Do you want to meet me there?” she asks, standing from her seat and giving me a better view of the entire exquisite length of her.
“Yeah…that’s probably best.” Plausible deniability. No, Dr. Duncan, I didn’t have any clue she’d be there. Just went to hear the poetry.
“Great,” she says as she gathers her book and shoves it in her bag. “It starts at nine. There are usually five or six poets and it’s a random draw, so I don’t know what time I’ll be reading.”
I nod without standing, no longer able to tame my erection. “I’ll be there at nine.”
“You know where Tino’s is?”
Electricity crackles under my skin. I’m really doing this. “Yeah. I’ll find it.”

The Way We Fall by Cassia Leo **Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway**

The Way We Fall Synopsis:

From New York Times bestselling author Cassia Leo comes a twisted and passionate love story that pushes the boundaries of loyalty. Maybe we shouldn’t have fallen so fast and so willingly. Maybe we shouldn’t have moved in together before we went on our first date. Maybe we should have given our wounds time to heal before we tore each other to shreds. Maybe we should have never been together. Houston has kept a devastating secret from Rory since the day he took her into his home. But the tragic circumstances that brought them together left wounds too deep to heal. Five years after the breakup, Houston and Rory are thrust together by forces beyond their control. And all the resentments and passion return with more intensity than ever. Once again, Houston is left with a choice between the truth and the only girl he’s ever loved. The Way We Fall is the first book in The Story of Us series, which follows the tumultuous love story of Rory and Houston. The sequel, The Way We Break, will be released Spring 2015. Cassia Leo Bio: New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cassia Leo loves her coffee, chocolate, and margaritas with salt. When she’s not writing, she spends way too much time watching old reruns of Friends and Sex and the City. When she’s not watching reruns, she’s usually enjoying the California sunshine or reading – sometimes both.

**3.5 - 4 ThisIsTooMuch Stars**

I don't know where to start from. This book was really intense and it will make you feel. Various emotions will probably pass through you. You may get mad, frustrated, heartbroken, depressed, happy, confused, maybe even disgusted. The only certain is that it will make you feel!

Houston is Hallie's older brother. Rory is Hallie's best friend and she was in love with Houston ever since she was 11. They share a really long and painful past. A past built in a tragedy, lies and unspoken feelings that brought them together.

What happens when fate brings them back together five years later? What happens when they always thought they would end up together, no matter what, but there are obstacles in their way? Mostly what happens when he's still holding on a secret that can destroy her?

“This is the way we fall. First we lose our balance, teetering precariously on the edge of uncertainty, until, mercilessly, gravity takes over. You can’t outshine gravity.”

This is definitely not a light read. Even though it had certain scenes that made me laugh with their witty dialogues and the well written characters, the sexy moments, I can't say it wasn't a tough one.

Houston's and Rory's story is a complicated story that will have you rooting for them and against them at the same time. I could see the love they shared, but also struggle with the circumstances that brought them together, past and present. I was trying to understand the reasons for their actions, because the present-past-present had kept me guessing.

And close to the ending I got mindblown. I couldn't have guessed. I was probably staring wide eyed and my mouth was hanging open at the revelation. I usually can predict what's going to happen or what happened, but I could never imagine that twist. I always appreciate authors who can surprise me.

This is a really captivating and heartbreaking story and the writing is so good that will suck you in. Even if you struggle, don't stop. Don't give up. I don't wish to spoil people, but this book is dealing with several sensitive subjects.. It will probably be a love or hate kind of book for many. I have to admit that I struggled at some point, but then the writing was amazing and the constant angst and twists and turns couldn't make me stop reading! Even the secondary characters had kept me interested and drawn in the story, wondering what's going to happen next.

“It doesn’t have to end, does it?”
“I hope it never ends.”

I cannot wait for the next book in the series after that ending!! This is my first book from this author, but certainly won't be the last.

The mix of her presence and her void is completely overwhelming, and I fall to my knees in the middle of the room. The pain in my chest is like nothing I have ever felt before, as if my heart is being ripped from my body and sliced into tiny pieces. I want her back so bad. I want to just feel her tiny hand in mine and tuck her into bed. Lifting my head, my eyes fall on Teddy, Katie’s coveted bear that she left here to ‘take care of me’. I crawl to the small bed and lie my head next to the little bear that, just a few days ago, we tucked into her blankets together until she’d be back. Pressing my face against the little bear, I can’t hold back my tears anymore.

Excerpt: Someone made a mistake in teaching you life is easy. Cole’s words had hit like well-aimed arrows, and not of the Cupid variety. At least Lissa knew which camp he fell into. The naysayers tended toward one of two options—push Lissa away or pull Lissa close. The pushers openly mocked her “illegitimate” success. The pullers beguiled her in an effort to see how much of that “luck”—or connections or money or opportunity—could rub off on them. Cole was a clear pusher, and frankly, she liked those better. At least they were honest. A hank of hair chose that moment to abandon the clip that couldn’t quite contain her pony tail. Ruler straight despite a healthy dedication to volumizing shampoo, her hair liked to slip from its confines and lay flat against her head in an antagonizing refusal to hold body. She imagined her looks mattered about as much to Cole as couponing did to Donald Trump, but hell, she had nothing to lose and everything to gain. After the disaster in the driveway, she could at least try to make herself presentable. Her trek to the spare bathroom two rooms down took her past Cole’s bedroom door across the hall. His rumpled bed sat in silence. Nothing personal hinted at the room’s inhabitant. A dresser and two night stands held a clock and a box of tissues between them. No pictures or knickknacks, not even a stray piece of clothing or a random shoe littered Cole’s studied order, dimmed by heavy shades that blocked the rising sun from cheering the space. Earthy scents of pine and sandalwood filled her nostrils. Despite his obvious efforts to disappear within the emptiness, the room bore his mark. The hard edges and sanded planks had absorbed his essence without permission.

 Art-Crossed Love Synopsis: ArtCrossedLove

Cole Rathlen is a photographer on the mend. A crippling grief has stifled his once-rising career and compromised his creative instincts. Knowing he can’t stagnate forever, he seeks a twisted absolution in the form of a woman whose paintings give life to the emotions he won’t let himself imagine, let alone feel. Under the Influence by L.B. Simmons **Cover Reveal & Teasers**

Dalton,
I loved you once. A love I thought irrevocable. A love I mistakenly believed could transcend both time and circumstance. Under the influence of my dimwitted, naïve, traitorous heart, I became intoxicated with what I now know was simply a figment of my self-indulgent imagination. So drunk on the feeling, I couldn’t see what was right in front of my face. So foolishly enamored, I blindly followed my heart into the depths of an emotion that would ravage me.

Years later, I know now what I wish I knew then. I am stronger. Smarter. Tougher. I will not allow myself to be broken again.
I loved you.
I raged for you.
I wept for you.
And now, I’m letting you go.

Author’s Note:  Under the Influence is the journey of two childhood friends that spans the course of five pivotal years in their lives. It is a story about their discovery of true friendship as it blossoms into first love, their experience of crucial sacrifice and ultimate betrayal, and their endurance of agonizing heartbreak on the way to finding lasting redemption.
