Made to Love by S.M. West *ARC Review*

Burned by love once before, divorcee Olivia Cassidy isn’t looking for a recipe for “happily ever after”. The first time she thought she found forever, it turned out to be a marriage with no sizzle and no spice.

Busy starting up her own business and raising two older children, love is the last thing Olivia is looking for—but when the sexy young chef Samson Beaulieu comes into her life, he’s suddenly mixing up something new.

Now it’s up to Sam to show Olivia how delectable their future can be. He may know how to heat things up—both in the kitchen and in the bedroom—but is Sam really made to love her?

4.5 Fascinating stars

Olivia is a woman that's in her 40s and she's a divorcee with two grown up children. When she goes on a getaway with her friends in Toronto, she meets Sam. She never expected that a younger man would capture her interest, especially one who also lives away from her city.

Sam will challenge her to go against everything, but with a woman like her things won't be easy for neither of them. Especially because Sam is a popular handsome chef, who has a tv show and therefore many young women chasing after him. So the question is, is he made to love her?

I loved so much this book. I'm very glad to say that I think it's one of the stories that will probably stick with me. For some reason, it seemed very original to me, maybe because I'm not used in reading about this age group? Perhaps. But I totally loved the fact that the heroes were grow ups and the heroine had teenage kids.

Furthermore, I liked that the reason of the divorce was completely realistic and that there were no hard feelings between the divorced couple. I mean, I felt sorry for Pete, but I've been in Olivia's shoes, so I really don't blame her and fully supported her reasons.

Anyway, this was my first book by S.M. West and I loved her writing. It was exceptional , the characters were amazing, the plot was lovely, sexy, funny and sweet and I can't wait to read more from her!

3.5 stars

Elena had a traumatic summer. Her father had an accident and a brain trauma changed him. Ever since he's not the same and that has affected Elena greatly.

Daniel had met Elena at the beginning of that summer, before her father's accident and they had hit it off, but then Elena stopped being in touch. When they meet again, Daniel tries to pursue her, but Elena makes it clear that she doesn't want relationships.

Daniel was a good guy. Understanding, sweet, and could fuck like a god. And all of that made him both tempting and dangerous.

This was my first book by Jerica and it was quite enjoyable. I liked her writing a lot and I think that it had a lot of potential. I definitely want to read more by her. However, I didn't like the heroine that much and how she treated Daniel. I definitely understand it wasn't easy for her, but still many of her actions didn't make a lot of sense to me and I thought that Daniel could make her work for it. Also, the ending was kind of rushed in my opinion. I definitely would have liked to see more from them, but maybe the author plans to make a novella about it or write a bonus scene or something?

I believe that it was a lovely story and I loved that the romance was diverse/multicultural? With the hero being black and the heroine Spanish. And I don't mean any offence using these terms, I'm just not certain how I should describe them. Anyway, kudos on that! I'm very intrigued to read more by her.

Hart Broken by Annie Arcane **ARC Review**

Mickey Hart doesn’t do one-night stands. Until she wakes up in a luxury penthouse. With nothing but a t-shirt and no idea whom it belongs to.

Enter Cale Windermere. Driven. Ambitious. Successful. And so gorgeous he could've walked straight out of a romance novel...

Except I can’t walk.

Not that it ever stops me from getting what I want.

And I want her.

Even if she's keeping secrets.

That could tear me to f*cking shreds.

Warning: Strong language, mature content, drama, and angst included. Shirt sold separately.

This novel is an adult contemporary romance featuring a disabled hero who happens to be a rich and sexy alpha male with a potty mouth.

Cale and Mickey: Book 1 of 4

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cale is a man who has it all. He's gorgeous, rich, smart, funny and he's generally perfect.

Mickey is a shy, but also smart girl and she wakes up in an unknown penthouse with no recollection of the night before. She's ready to sneak out when she meets Cale, the stunning paraplegic owner.

They'll get to know each other, even when the past and their insecurities will come to the surface. Certain facts will pull them apart and others will bring them back together. But will they be enough?

I truly enjoyed this one!! When I had been offered the chance to read Hart Broken, I can't deny the fact that I accepted it because it intrigued me because I have a thing for heroes with disabilities and there was no second thought about it! I'm so pleased by the outcome even though I think this is a debut work, the book was well written and the characters were very easy to read.

I enjoyed their personalities and loved how independent Cale was, how he didn't treat himself as a paraplegic at all and he was such a strong and stubborn character. I also thought that the heroine's stammering at first was really cute, but I did hope she would quit it after a while. ;) What I didn't like so much were some events that took place near the end of the story and how the heroine faced a situation, plus I didn't like the fact that there was some unnecessary drama.

Sometimes, once-in-a-lifetime means precisely that. Sometimes, you lose something great. Sometimes, you can't get it back. Sometimes, you don't get a second chance.

Other than that, I believe it's a light, sexy and funny read and I would definitely recommend this one! I'm also looking forward to reading the continuation of Hart Broken! :)

Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre **ARC Review**

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"If my need was lingerie, it'd be blood-red, with lines that scream for attention."

Trey Marks has a company with lingerie that sadly doesn't go well and he needs to hire a new Creative Director. That's how Kate comes in the picture and starts working for him. There's no doubt that her boss is incredibly hot and their chemistry is palpable between them. But when it comes to business Trey doesn't want to mix it with pleasure and especially when the company needs to be saved and Kate seems like the one who will bring back the company from the ashes.

On top of all that, Kate is engaged and Trey's sexual lifestyle needs to be kept away from her, because he thinks that this could ruin their friendship or any potential future with her on his side either as a co-partner or not.

"My company needs her. I need her. And, unfortunately, so does my cock."

I truly enjoyed this story! It was a slow burn romance, with sexual tension off the charts, their chemistry was truly palpable and the scenes between them were scorching!! Especially the scene with the pen was my most favorite one!! There are many scenes that also made me laugh, their banter and generally their connection was amazing.

And even though that at first I had hesitated because I thought this would go down a way I didn't want to see, I trusted Alessandra and she handled everything smoothly. My only issue maybe is the timeframe that confused me a little and I didn't realise the amount of time that passed through this story. Also the way that heroine handled his secret didn't amuse me, but hey who am I to judge the heroine's thoughts and actions? I still loved the book and I think it's now one of my favorite AT books!!

Strongly recommended. Can't wait for everyone to read this one!! ♥♥

Cock Tease ( My Dad's Best Friend's Romance #1) Cock Tease by J.L. Beck **ARC Review**

Carly was such a c#ck tease with her sexy curves, and sassy mouth. I should’ve known better than to kiss her, let alone want more. I mean come on' she was my best friends daughter and hardly legal age.

Still she tempted me for far to long making my curiosity turn into obsession. Now I’m going to claim her as my own, and no one not even her father is going to keep us a part.

-This book contains an older alpha male, with a hard on for a sassy young virgin. Contain’s elements of instalove, is a standalone, and as always has a HEA that will melt your heart.-

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Nash had a crush on his best friend's little daughter for a long time now and Carly seems that she's feeling the same from all the teasing she has been doing to him. Will they get together nonetheless the age gap and the fact that her father is his best friend?

So, this was my first read of 2017 and sadly it didn't work for me. I can't deny that there were some sexy scenes that I enjoyed, but other than that I felt mostly awkward. I don't mind age gaps and the fact that he was her father's best friend was what intrigued me, so these weren't my issues, but the way it was written didn't amuse me. It seemed unrealistic, their thoughts, actions and reactions didn't make sense to me.

"Carly wasn't daddy's little girl anymore, she was Nash's."

I expected maybe more angst and turmoil when it came to her father and how he would deal with this or them hiding it from him, that's what made me more intrigued and willing to read this after all.

But just because this didn't work for me, it doesn't mean others wouldn't enjoy it. This read was short, light and sexy. So if you're up for something like that then this is for you :)

Shifter Date: Must Love Lions by Alma Black **ARC Review**

Alexis Parrish is very single. Sassy and smart, she's great at her job as a journalist, but it's never given her the time to find the right man--specifically, a human. So when she gets assigned to interview Max, a lion shifter, about the new dating app he's created, she can't believe her intense attraction to him. After all, humans and shifters don't date.

Max is used to causing trouble. He broke tradition by creating the dating app, Shifter, which humans and shifters alike can use to answer the call of the wild.

When Max challenges Alexis to give him a chance, she can't say no. A human like her has no business with this handsome alpha lion, but she can't resist his magnetism. Their chemistry is primal, their connection positively animalistic. After all, once you go shifter, you never go back.

But when a rogue shifter group against interspecies dating targets Alexis, Max will stop at nothing to protect her. It's more than his pride on the line; it's his mate.

Warning: If sassy, sexy, and carnal reads aren't your thing, this book isn't for you. It contains lots of dirty sex, violence, and witty banter.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Love is dangerous. And wild. And spectacular."

Max is the leading alpha of the Pride and the maker of "Shifter Date", a dating app that matches humans with shifters. He is threading new waters with this move, since normally this isn't acceptable and even though humans know about their existance, they don't match with each other. But Max is thinking out of the box and wants to see if he can convince others as well.

There comes Alexis, a journalist that doesn't like or approve relationships between shifters and humans, but she has been ordered to take an interview by the maker of this new dating app and that's how she meets Max. The sexy shifter who challenges her to think otherwise, when she seems so against the wole idea.

"He didn't understand why no one else saw things the way he did. Love wanted what love wanted, and it didn't give a shit about gender, race or species. Lust was the same. He desired Alexis, and if Max was human, he'd be willing to be nothing would have stopped them from tearing each other's clothes off and going at it in his office. Right here. Right now."

I'm not really used in shifter romance to be honest, apart from vampires & werewolves, I definitely hadn't read about a lion shifter, so when I was approached to read and review this story at first I was a little hesitant, but I was also intrigued by the synopsis.

I loved the writing, the characters and the plot. Admittedly, I think there was a lot of potential and it could be explored furthermore, since there were many aspects that had me invested and I wanted to see more of them, like the Pride, his relationship with his parents, this new shifter who wanted him. I expected more 'drama' maybe or at least just a little bit more of everything. I know it was a small book and maybe that's why it felt that way, but I do believe there was plenty of potential that wasn't used sadly.

Still, I believe that this was a great work and it definitely didn't seem like a debut author writing this. If you like paranormal/ shifter romance stories, with lots of sexual tension and steamy scenes and also a great dosage of adventure, then this is a book you should give a chance to read. Congrats on your debut work, Alma! I'm looking forward to reading more by you!

PS: How awesome is the fact that Shifter Date is also a real site?? I had the quiz and my result was Dragon Shifters! Check it ou: https://www.shifterdate.com
